Our most popular die is a 3" wide "dome" style die, perfectly sized for early hot rod hoods and hood sides.
Each die is made from A2 tool steel with a Rockwell hardness of 61-63. The lower forms are crafted from 4140 pre-hardened steel and are designed for 18-gauge metal. If you need a different gauge, email us, and we can custom-clearance the form to fit your specifications.
Each set includes an upper and lower die, plus an interface plate that bolts to a Mitler Bros. press or can be adapted to your custom-designed press.
Since we manufacture to order, please allow 2-3 weeks for fulfillment.
Why choose our louver die set?
• Made from high-quality tool steel, heat-treated for durability.
• Features adjustable spacing from 1/4” to 1/2” between louvers—something you won’t find anywhere else.
• Includes a back form to ensure perfect louver formation every time.
• Clearly scribed centerline on the front for precision.
This louver design is inspired by a louvered hood and fenders I bought that were originally louvered in 1961. They had a beautiful shape and always drew compliments. Unfortunately, I lost that hood and fenders in a fire—but I was determined to reproduce those louvers. I salvaged the burnt hood and reverse-engineered the louver die from it. It took a few attempts, but the third time was the charm!
